GLUE LAMINATED BEAMS
Wood is one of the most traditional and tried-and-tested materials used by man. A particularly important sector in wood processing with applications for a century is glue laminated timber. The accumulated experience and use of glued timber, new architectural trends and the variety of offered dimensions, have made this type one of the main building materials. The most stringent production specifications for glulam beams as defined by EU standards, modern processing methods and the continuous improvement of the glue used ensure a modern, high-quality and environmentally friendly product since it is fully recyclable.
APPLICATIONS
Glue laminated timber is used where visual and static requirements are high and where aesthetics, comfort and budget are non-negotiable concepts.
Vasilopouloi SA has many years of experience in the production of glue laminated beams and applies a Quality Assurance System according to ELOT EN ISO 9001:2015, while it has fully harmonized with the requirements of the new European Standards EN 14080, which concern the suitability of composite beams as safe structural elements. All of the above guarantees a product with uniform visual and technical characteristics. The glue laminated beams of Vasilopoulos SA are available in a wide variety of dimensions and are distinguished by their impeccable finishing with corner breaks and their excellent packaging. However, in addition to the wide variety compared to solid beams, composite beams present particularly attractive technical characteristics. Specifically, they present smaller deformations due to the previous artificial drying process at humidity levels of 10% ± 2%, they have greater technical uniformity since before the welding process, imperfections are removed (removal of knots, parts with cracks) that directly affect the strength and aesthetics of the wood, they have high strength with a simultaneously low specific weight, which allows the construction of structures with larger openings. Finally, they offer excellent thermal and sound insulation, thus creating excellent living conditions.

- With excellent quality adhesives certified according to EN 301 & EN 302 and suitable for structural constructions based on EN 385 & EN 386 standards with great care
